Howdy, Smithville, and welcome to your Smithville Texas News Weekend Guide!
Can you believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner? With the holiday so close, there aren’t quite as many free events on the calendar this weekend.
But you won’t want to miss the closing performances and celebration of the Potluck Projects by our artist in residence, Lynn Hoare. They’re putting on two FREE shows, complete with food served afterward, so grab a friend and come on out!
And even if some spots don’t have events, please get out and support our local restaurants, bars, and shops this weekend. Every dollar you spend at a Smithville-owned business puts money right back into our city for the parks, streets, and everything else we love.

6:30pm: Smithville Brewing Company: Taproom Trivia, hosted by John Scallorn
7-9pm: Mutt’s Last Stand: Open Mic Night! Got a song, a joke, or a story? Grab a brew and the mic! The stage is yours. Sign up in person or by phone as early as noon every Thursday.
PSA: The gym at the Rec Center will be closed every Thursday from Nov. 13-Dec. 18 from 5:30-8:30pm for the Dribblers Basketball Clinic.

5pm: Tiger Gym: Lady Tiger basketball home game vs Luling
6:30pm: Taylor High School: Tiger basketball away game at Taylor
We don’t see any events listed but let’s face it: no one wants to cook dinner on a Friday. All of our local restaurants are OPEN!
The Front Room
Bubby’s BBQ
Quinto Patio
Pockets Grill
Hope Floats Cafe
El Monarca Mexican Restaurant
Remember, when you eat and shop local, you are keeping our tax dollars in the community which helps fund all the things we love and enjoy in Smithville. So please grab dinner or a drink tonight at our local businesses!
