Howdy, Smithville, and welcome to your Smithville Texas News Weekend Guide!

We are officially in December and all of our downtown shops and restaurants are decorated with beautiful Christmas cheer. If you are looking for gift ideas for your friends and family check out our local shops!

Tonight The Front Room kicks off our weekend with a Holiday Style Show for Golden Girls Boutique. They have the cutest clothes and accessories, so make sure and check it out tonight, at the Front Room, from 6-7 p.m.

This weekend's big event is the Festival of Lights on Saturday from 10a-4p at both the Rec Center and Railroad Park. There will be plenty of arts, crafts, and family-friendly fun for everyone.

A small business note: Hope Floats Cafe reopened for business this week with their new owner! You can check out their new hours and new menu here

Remember, when you eat and shop local, you are keeping our tax dollars in the community which helps fund all the things we love and enjoy in Smithville. So please grab dinner or a drink tonight at our local businesses!

When you are out at the Festival of Lights this Saturday, stop by Faire La Nouba at 110 Main Street for their FREE insta-print Christmas photo booth!

Grab your family, your partner, or your pet, and get your photo taken next to the tree, while enjoying free treats for the kids and champagne punch for the grown ups (yum yum!)

And if you are looking for a new Christmas stocking, they are selling stockings to help raise money for new doors for the historic building. They are hand-made, with love, right here in Smithville, and all proceeds go towards the new doors.
