The contract custodial worker who was removed from working at Smithville High School two weeks ago has been reinstated and will receive back pay for all days missed, according to his supervisor at IQS, who confirmed the news via text message Wednesday morning.
Smithville Texas News also contacted the district, which confirmed via email that the employer, IQS, planned to reinstate him.
The contract worker, whose identity was never released, was accused of taking photographs of cheerleaders before practice in the parking lot. An investigation by the Smithville Police Department found nothing illegal on the phone.
“The forensic examination was completed on the phone suspected to have been used to take photos. The examination results proved that nothing illegal was done on the phone that would lead to charges being filed,” Police Chief David Repka said in an email on Sept. 22. “Based on the results our case is closed as unfounded.”
